Welcome to the Christmas edition of getting to know your family and friends.

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Whatever I find.....before a sibling or parents takes it..... and as long as the present fits....

2. Real or fake tree? Mostly fake, but we've done real before.

3. When do you put up a tree? Normally right after Thanksgiving, but this time will be a little late sue to the vacation we just returned from, and the fact that all my siblings other than Caleb are sick.

4. When do you take it down? No set date....sometime after Xmas

5. Do you like eggnog? Nope.

6. Favorite gift received as a child? Probably some sort of toy, but I'm not sure right now.

7. Hardest person to buy for? Mom & Dad (Stephen too, sometimes)

8. Easiest person to buy for? Sisters

9. Do you have a nativity scene? As in, something for the yard or for in the house? (Yes to the latter)

10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail, when we do them.

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? I don't know . . .

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? Its a wonderful life.

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? I make most of the gifts.....

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? I may have.....once, back when I was 5....

15. Favourite thing to eat at Christmas? Do I have to pick just one? Just about anything other than Butter Letter.

16. Lights on the tree? Oh yes. I don't know if we would survive without lights!!!

17. Favourite Christmas song? Ummm....O Holy Night, Hark the Harold Angels Sing, Angels from the Realms of Glory, I Saw Three Ships, Oh, Christmas Tree, Do you see what I see?, O come, O come, Emanuel, The Twelve Days of Christmas, O Little town of Bethlehem, We Three Kings, While Shepherds Watched their flocks by Night, Good King Wencanlas, The Little Drummer Boy, Go Tell it on the Mt., Away in a Manger, - Just about anything!

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Stay home....

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer's? Maybe 4 or so.....

21. Open presents on Christmas Eve or morning? Stockings on Xmas Morn, Presents on Xmas Eve.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? That no one says "Merry Christmas" anymore. Its always "Happy Holidays". And that a big fat red Santa has taken over, and everyone seems to think that Xmas is about finding lots of gifts under the tree, rather than remembering the greatest gift of all, God's son, Jesus.

23. Favourite Ornament theme or color? I like the traditional Christmas colors best.....

24. Favourite for Christmas dinner? Ummm....Everything?

25. Favourite Decorations? Almost all of them.....though we do have some rather odd Tree decor.

26. What do you want for Christmas this year? A. lot. more. than. I. will. get. (Harp, Camara, books, Horse,....)

15 things about me.....

1. I simply cannot stand cockroches
2. I wish I could paint every sunset, sunrise, or pretty sky that I see.
3. I have worn my favorite skirt so much part of it has turned a ugly grayish-brown. (It used to be a light colored denim)
4. I don't like spiders, and if they are bigger than a dime or a non daddy long leg type it is worse. And one is trapped under a tupperware about 18" away from my foot as I type.
   
5. I am having a hard time thinking of 15 stuff about me.
6. I don't like any kind of fizzy drinks.
   
7. I eat my grits the "yankee way" (with brown sugar)
8. I have made coloring pages out of my favorite photos (using the computer)
   
9. I do not like the so called "art" nowadays
10. I do not look good in yellow
11. I once had my hair cut to shoulder length (never again)
12. I am not normally a very word-y person
13. I have been amazed at the "lack" of tornados in AL (not that I like them...)
    
14. I don't like any type of seafood
15. I have no idea why people are so crazy about the game of Football

Another Meme - Fall Favorites

1. Favorite Smell? Apple Cider as it heats up on the stove

2. Favorite Food? Sweet Potatoes or Apple Pie

3. Favorite Color? Dark Red and Burnt Orange

4. Favorite Drink? Apple Cider

5. Favorite Treat? Slices of Granny Smith apples dipped in cinnamon and sugar

6. Favorite Place to go? Not sure on this one.....I like shopping, but the stores are filled with decorations for a certain celebration that occurs on Oct. 31.......I guess I enjoy being anywhere where I see the fall colors......

9. Favorite Clothing to wear? Sweaters. I don't get to wear them much down here, but I always enjoy it when I can.

11. Favorite Football Team? We officially go for Alabama, but I really don't even understand the sport at all.

16. Favorite Fall Hobby? Picking "Bouquets" or raking leaves

7. (I must be really odd, I'm going over the requirement) I read fast. Really fast. I read through To Have and To Hold in 3 days. I read From Dark to Dawn in 2. So Much More was read in 2 days. I've been known to go through 3 books a day. When we go on vacation, I have to take an average of 4 books a day, and still need to pace myself and do cross-stitch or something in between books.

The finished product.

Chocolate chip cookies

• 1 cup butter

• 2 cups sucanat

• 1 tsp. milk

• 1 tsp. vanilla

• 1 egg

• 1 cup olive oil

• 4 cups whole wheat pastry flour

• 1 tsp. salt

• ½ tsp. cream of tarter

• 1 tsp. soda

• 2 cups (dark) choc. chips

Cream butter and sugar, add milk, vanilla, egg, & oil. Mix dry ingredients and gradually add to wet mix. Add chips. Bake at 350 for 9-10 min.
